About XRPL
XRP Ledger (XRPL) is a decentralized, public blockchain maintained by a global community, focused on cross-border payments, smart contracts, and digital currencies. Established in 2012, it offers fast, low-cost, and real-time transfers of XRP, fiat currencies, and digital assets. Unlike other blockchains, XRPL employs a unique consensus algorithm, bypassing the need for proof-of-work or proof-of-stake mechanisms. It has been lauded for its high performance, settling thousands of transactions within seconds at a low cost. The Ledger supports various features like a decentralized exchange, cross-currency payments, payment channels, multi-signing, and token representation.
