About Harmony
Harmony is a fast, secure blockchain for decentralized applications. Harmony uses a unique sharding mechanism and Effective Proof-of-Stake (EPoS) consensus algorithm to offer scalability and high throughput. It supports cross-chain bridges and processes transactions in parallel through its sharding infrastructure. Harmony’s mainnet comprises four shards, with each having 1,000 nodes. The blockchain achieves block finality in 2 seconds, which is significantly faster compared to other blockchains. Harmony’s design aims to address blockchain’s trilemma by providing a balanced solution for scalability, security, and decentralization.
