About Cardano
Cardano is a public blockchain platform that is open-source and decentralized. It operates on a proof of stake consensus mechanism, and its internal cryptocurrency is ADA. Cardano was developed with the ambition of providing a more secure, scalable, and sustainable ecosystem for cryptocurrencies. The platform was founded in 2015 by Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, and was launched in 2017. Cardano has been designed to provide a more balanced and sustainable ecosystem that better accounts for the needs of its users as well as other systems seeking integration.
