The land plot was purchased by the Deadfellaz NFT community
WorldWideWeb3 has just recorded one of its largest sales to date with a Penthouse NFT switching owners for 63.63 ETH, or about $180.000. The community behind the Deadfellaz NFT collection bought penthouse number 9030 inside the pixelated virtual world.
WorldWideWeb3 hosted a land sale late last year. Penthouses are the largest and rarest type of virtual real estate available. According to the official Discord announcement, Deadfellaz decided to move into WWW3 because the team believes the upcoming functionalities for WWW3 landowners will bring benefits to the whole community.
The Penthouse is the second WorldWideWeb3 NFT to make it into the Deadfellaz vault. The vault also holds a large apartment NFT, which was purchased about two months ago for 1.63 ETH.
The WorldWideWeb3 land plot collection has been steadily gaining traction for the past couple of months. In the past seven days, the collection generated close to $2 million in trading volume, and attracted 567 traders. At the time of writing, the floor price for the smallest land parcel on WWW3 is 1.29 ETH. Impressively, the initial mint price was 0.069 ETH.
WorldWideWeb3 is not the only virtual world on Deadfellaz’ radar
A deeper look into the Deadfellaz vault with the DappRadar Portfolio Tracker tool reveals that the team and community behind the collection are betting heavily on virtual worlds. Aside from the two WorldWideWeb3 NFTs, the vault also holds an NFT Worlds land plot. Additionally, the vault contains numerous Decentraland wearables
This wide variety of NFTs tied to virtual worlds shows that the Deadfellaz community and team have a serious interest in this sector of the crypto world. This isn’t entirely surprising, considering the massive rise in popularity the metaverse has experienced in the past several months. Importantly, virtual space is important for NFT collections because it allows these projects to hold custom and exclusive events in the metaverse on their own land.
DappRadar will continue monitoring both Deadfellaz and WorldWideWeb3. As the metaverse heats up, virtual land will become even more popular and in demand.
