Furthermore, if you’re curious or looking for inspiration, there are other wallets to peek at.
With our Portfolio feature, anyone can see famous celebrities’ crypto wallets and their POAPs.
The POAPs wallet above, for example, belongs to investor and rapper Snoop Dogg.
What are POAPs?
POAP stands for Proof of Attendance Protocol, and simply put, POAPs are NFT badges for events. They are currently governed by POAP Inc and were first established in 2018. Especially starting in 2021, with the NFTs bull market, more and more people participated in events in the Metaverse and became POAP collectors.
It’s a new way to keep a memory of a special moment, like keeping a birthday invitation card or a certificate of participation in a seminar.
On Web3, you mint POAPs or proof-of-attendance NFTs on a blockchain and keep them in your wallet for remembrance. Whenever a project launches an event and grants its community POAP NFTs, it grows a bit stronger and united.
In March 2022, for example, with the war in Ukraine and Russia, many people donated ETH to Ukrainians and received an NFT badge in return. Whoever owns that badge now feels great about donating to a cause they believed in.
