Top 10 blockchain games this week

splinterlands

Splinterlands takes center stage this week with 582.610 unique active wallets interacting with the platform. Interestingly, Splinterlands saw its native token SPS lose more than 11% of its value in the past seven days. Despite that significant drop, the game attracted more than half a million users and generated upwards of $235.000 in NFT trading volume. Importantly, Splinterlands also saw the public launch and revealed its latest NFT card pack Chaos Legion. Considering this, the card trading game rightfully takes the top spot in this week’s ranking.

Axie Infinity drops a position compared to last week, however, it is still among the top performers. With 369.570 unique active wallets registered in the past week, Axie proves that it still has one of the most dedicated communities in the blockchain gaming space. This week the Axie Infinity team introduced a major upgrade to the structure of SLP breeding fees. This was a much-awaited improvement, which aims to push the value of the native token and increase the earning potential for players.

WorldWideWeb3 is riding the novelty wave, as players are flocking to test out this new corner of the metaverse. Impressively, this week WorldWideWeb3 outpaces competitors like Decentraland and The Sandbox, which didn’t even make it on the top 10 list. Following a very successful initial land sale, Webb Land is among the most traded NFT collections of the week. With close to $5 million in NFT trading volume, WorldWideWeb3 rightfully makes it in the top 3 this week.

Farsite is also climbing the chart, moving up four positions since last week. While the game is still trying to reach a growing user base, Farsite held an important land sale event last week. Introducing 280 new sectors to the Star Map, the game opened up new investment opportunities for ambitious space travelers. The reveal of these new sectors effectively pushed Farsite to the top half of this week’s list of top 10 blockchain games.

Chainmonsters solidifies its fifth position from last week, as the closed beta version of the game gains momentum. While Chainmosters is still a rather closed system, players are anticipating the public launch of the game. With exciting 3D graphics and a thriving NFT marketplace, Chainmonsters is among the most impressive dapps on Flow.

Upland dominates the EOS gaming scene and enters this week’s top 10 with more than 150.000 unique active wallets registered in the past week. The virtual real estate game recently announced that more than 111.000 properties have already found owners, which is no small feat. As one of the first blockchain-based virtual worlds, Upland is steadily guarding its position as the leading dapp on EOS.

Gamee’s mobile gaming platform Arc8 has had a week full of success and important announcements. Attracting more than 36.000 players in the past seven days, Arc8 enters the charts with a splash. Importantly, Gamee also launched a new G-bots NFT collection, which significantly boosted the game’s performance. G-bots allow players to benefit from increased earnings and in-game bonuses, which is why these NFTs sell out almost instantly.

Alien Worlds climbs up 2 spots compared to last week’s ranking, despite the falling valuation of its native token TLM. The NFT-centric mining game recorded the second-biggest weekly user base with 546.720 unique active wallets connecting to its smart contracts. In-game NFT sales have generated upwards of $230.000 in trading volume for Alien Worlds, which puts it right next to long-time competitor Splinterlands. However, a rather slow week in terms of announcements and social media activity puts the mining game towards the bottom of the ranking.

Farmers World dropped several positions compared to last week, however still makes it into the list with more than 80.000 unique active users this week. Unfortunately, the game’s social media accounts have been pretty quiet lately, which leaves the community in the dark. Still, Farmers World is one of the most recognizable games on Wax, and it has managed to build a strong community of players.

Last in this week’s top 10 we have a Harmony-based dapp that combines all sectors of the blockchain world. While DeFi Kingdoms is designed as a game, the platform sports important DeFi tools like a decentralized exchange, and liquidity farming pools. Importantly, DeFi Kingdoms has solidified its position as the top Harmony dapp with more than 78.000 unique player wallets connecting to its smart contracts in the past week.

Splinterlands wins, but where are the metaverse leaders?

One of the more striking details about this week’s top 10 blockchain games is that big names in the metaverse sector like Decentraland and The Sandbox are missing. The main reason for that is the serious price dip the crypto space experienced last week. Token valuations have been dropping across the board. However, virtual worlds took one of the biggest hits, following a crazy upwards trend in the past several weeks.

The Sandbox managed to attract an impressive $26.3 million in NFT trading volume in the past week. However, the price for one SAND token dropped 11.7%. Similarly, Decentraland saw its native token MANA lose 22.7% of its valuation. Still, the platform registered upwards of $10 million in NFT trading volume.

Unfortunately, the all-around bearish situation on the market at the moment has had a negative effect on some of the biggest gaming dapps. However, a lot can change in a week, especially in the crypto space. Stay tuned and follow DappRadar on Twitter and Discord to check out next week’s top 10 blockchain games.
