Supporting Ethereum Virtual Machine and WebAssembly

DappRadar now offers users access to dapps on the Shiden Network, the EVM compatible smart contract platform on Kusama. DappRadar’s 1 million monthly visitors can now analyze which dapps attract the most volume, unique user wallets, or process the most transactions. The Shiden Network Rankings allow visitors to gain insight into which dapps and tokens build solid communities and value.

Shiden Network is a smart contract platform for dapps on the Kusama network built to support Layer-2 solutions, which refers to secondary frameworks built on top of existing blockchains. These extra layers improve a network’s scalability and transaction speeds. Moreover, thanks to EVM compatibility via Solidity and Web Assembly (WASM) support dapps can easily port over to Shiden.

An important point to keep in mind when talking about Shiden Network is that this project is just the first step of a much bigger project: Astar (formerly known as Plasm). This means that Shiden works as a test network for Astar.

Discover dapps on Shiden Network

Initially, DappRadar will track the activity of five dapps on Shiden. Four DeFi dapps and the multichain Tofu NFT Marketplace. With more to follow in the weeks and months to come. Developers can independently submit their dapps and gain visibility to thousands of engaged users through the Developer Dashboard

Shiden Network

Standard Protocol is the leading DeFi dapp on Shiden. A self-sovereign stablecoin protocol powered by its interoperable DAO ecosystem. Standard looks to empower users with full control through a multichain DEX, price oracle, and a non-reserve design for collateralized debt positions using NFTs. Kaco Finance is a cross-chain decentralized trading platform based on Binance Smart Chain and the Kusama parachain. Kaco Finance initially aims to provide liquidity, token swapping, and yield farms and is committed to realizing the asset bridging function between Kusama and BSC.

Dapp rewards or staking

When people use the Shiden Network, it generates new blocks, and with it comes a reward for the generated block. Half of the reward goes to the developers of the dapps deployed on the network. So basically, Shiden Network pays dapp developers to deploy their applications in their ecosystem. Or rather, it has created an incentive system within the network to help dapps to be developed and financed. Find out more about the reward system here

Developer support

The Astar / Shiden Network Builders Program was created to help further the ecosystem’s development, growth, and adoption by supporting teams building on it. Stake Technologies operate the program with guidance from Parity Technologies under the Builders for Builders initiative. Shiden is interested in high-quality teams building infrastructure and integration solutions to help developers build applications that the community wants.
