He paid $1.12 million or 296.69 WETH for Doodle #6914
NFT collector Pranksy has purchased Doodle #6914 by paying $1.12 million, an all-time high record for the collection. The Doodles collection has been the talk of the town in the first days of 2022, as the collection saw incredible activity in the past week.
DappRadar reported earlier this week that Pranksy was among some of the purchases in recent days. The collector has been on a Doodles purchasing streak. On Monday, January 5thhe explained in a tweet that it was high time he showed some conviction with his NFT purchases. That’s why he added 14 Doodles to his portfolio.
This is a serious jump into a single collection, however, not too surprising, considering the wave of attention Doodles enjoyed in the past couple of days. Doodles is a collection of 10.000 PFP avatar NFTs designed by Burnt Toast and released in October last year. Since then, these cute creatures have only become more valuable. Currently, the floor price for a Doodles NFT is 9.29 ETH, or $31.274. That’s quite the increase from the original mint price of 0.123 ETH.
Pranksy and other crypto celebrities push Doodles to the top
Pranksy is not the only crypto celebrity to ape into the Doodles collection recently. Big names in the industry like Gary Vee and Loopify also purchased Doodles NFTs in the past couple of days. Following this increased attention from crypto VIPs, Doodles has been enjoying its strongest week since its launch.
In the past seven days, the collection attracted more than 1700 unique traders, generating almost $50 million in trading volume. This places the collection among big names in the space like Axie Infinity and Bored Ape Yacht Club.
Impressively, thanks to the increased activity and rising floor price, Doodles is now also present in the DappRadar Top NFT Sales charts. In the past 24 hours, NFTs from the collection are ranked in first and third place, among a World of Women NFT, a land plot in Decentraland, and a Bored Ape.
