What is Arc8?
Arc8 is an innovative mobile casual gaming platform that has redefined the concept of gaming through its play-to-earn system. It runs on the Polygon Layer-2 network, ensuring compatibility with Ethereum. The creative minds behind Arc8 are GAMEE, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands.
What makes Arc8 special?
This platform brings a diverse range of games to the table, including card games, puzzle games, simple runner games, target practice, and penalty shootouts, ensuring immediate enjoyment even for gaming beginners. The experience is akin to playing popular games like Candy Crush, PopStar!, or Temple Run, all widely loved by casual gamers.
Additionally, it boasts an extensive network of partnerships with projects like Cool Cats, Mocaverse, and Planet IX. These collaborations result in unique content and experiences in partnered games and events.
Where to download Arc8?
Users can download the platform through the App Store or Google Play, enjoying its unique rewarding system on the go. Unlike some popular games that require payment for downloading, Arc8 is free and it rewards players for their engagement.
Furthermore, Arc8 provides an uninterrupted gaming experience by eliminating intrusive advertisements, a truly fun and seamless gaming environment.
How to start playing in Arc8?
Arc8’s free credit system lets everyone dive straight into the fun of casual gaming without any costs. But it’s not just about entertainment; Arc8 also introduces players to the world of Web3, the next generation of the internet, using a fun and gamified approach. It gradually familiarizes players with concepts like wallets, tokens, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), using friendly competitive gameplay as a core strategy.
Here’s how you can start your journey with Arc8:
- First, download the app and set up an account. You can do this quickly and easily using your Facebook, Google, or Apple ID if you’re on iOS.
- Now you’re ready to jump into the games – and the best part is, you can play for free!
- If you want to earn more GMEE, which is Arc8’s own utility token, you’ll need to create a crypto wallet and set your network to Polygon.
- Next, link your GAMEE account to your wallet address on the GAMEE website. Now, you’re all set to start earning while you play.
- If you’re new to blockchain, don’t worry – there’s a helpful video below that will guide you through setting up your wallet for Polygon.

How to play and earn in Arc8?
Embarking on your journey as a free player in Arc8 can already start yielding GMEE tokens for you. For instance, once you’ve completed three games in the practice stage, such as Into the Mocaverse, you’ll be rewarded with 1 GMEE.
This initial earning provides you with a stake to compete against other players for a chance to win more tokens. In these competitive games, you stand to win a pre-determined amount of GMEE tokens. But remember, if you lose the game, you also lose the tokens you’ve wagered.
Playing this way lets you earn actual cryptocurrency, though accumulating substantial resources can take some time. To speed up your earnings, you will need more GMEE tokens to enter bigger games.
For example, in a 1v1 game you could earn 1.7 GMEE tokens for a victory. Alternatively, if you put down 2 GMEE tokens to join a tournament, you might get a share in a decent 90 GMEE prize pool.
Such rewarding opportunities are indeed exclusive, yet they remain accessible to NFT holders.
This is made possible through Arc8’s robust, interoperable NFT ecosystem, which places their platform NFT, G-Bot, at its core. In addition to its own offerings, Arc8 supports a variety of partnered NFT projects, including renowned ones such as Mocaverse, Planet IX, and Cool Cats.
Notably, such an ecosystem is designed with three primary objectives: enhancing the gaming experience, enriching NFT utilities, and maximizing player rewards.
What are G-Bot NFTs in Arc8?
G-Bots are significant assets in Arc8, helping users explore more diverse experiences within the ecosystem. These in-game NFTs are developed according to the ERC-721 standard and run on the Polygon network.
G-Bots serve multiple purposes for their holders. Besides granting access to exclusive games, they can be taken into combat or staked to yield rewards.
To get one, you need to go through the secondary marketplaces. A first edition of 5,000 packs containing G-Bots went on sale in 2021 but sold out a long time ago.
GAMEE plans to expand the utility of the G-Bot NFTs and has stated that an entire metaverse-style virtual world is in the works. Their goal is to create more decentralized ownership of the platform, introduce game-related land and give the community a bigger say in how the Arc8 operates.
GAMEE also wants to implement interoperability for the G-Bots. This means that holders will be able to use their NFTs across different platforms and in different games. As things stand, users can only use their G-Bots in the Arc8 ecosystem for now.
What’s the in-game currency?
GMEE is Arc8’s in-game currency. The current token price is well off its all-time high. But as this is in line with the rest of the cryptocurrency market, there is a chance that it could rebound in the future.
In 1v1 games, Arc8’s system meticulously matches opponents based on their respective skill levels. This method ensures a fair and competitive gaming experience by pitting evenly-matched players against each other. Additionally, it promotes a dynamic distribution of tokens by preventing top players from monopolizing the rewards.
However, the dynamics shift in tournament play. In these scenarios, superior performance is more significantly rewarded, allowing top competitors to secure larger shares of the prize pool. This dual structure serves to cater to various player preferences and skill levels, offering different routes to success within the gaming ecosystem.
Omega Particles (OMP) is the native ERC-20 token of the G-Bots Metaverse, earned through G-Bot tournaments or exchanged for GMEE on the QuickSwap exchange. Crucially, OMP is used to upgrade, evolve, and breed new G-Bots along with Arc8’s native token.
Arc8 2023 roadmap
In the first half of 2023, Arc8 plans to roll out its inaugural turn-based live multiplayer game, introducing a fresh game system and economy. This period will also see the implementation of casual 1v1 battles within a competitive league structure.
Moving to the second half of 2023, Arc8 is set to launch a new Web3 competitive mode, further diversifying gameplay options. The platform will also introduce an NFT season pass, purchasable with the GMEE token, to offer additional exclusive content.
Lastly, in an effort to foster a more inclusive community, Arc8 aims to open its platform to external communities by allowing them to operate their own versions of Arc8, through what’s being called ‘Arc8 nodes’.
