Can this popular dapp game slide into the Ethereum top 5 games?
Fantasy football collectible card game Sorare is migrating to the Ethereum protocol. After their previous home – LOOM announced they are pivoting to focus on commercial and business solutions.
Sorare uses blockchain to authenticate limited-edition digital player card collectibles. Players own their cards and can buy, sell, or trade cards with other users.
The fantasy game allows gamers to craft a lineup of five player cards, with players earning points based on their on-field performance. Bonus points can be applied based on the assigned value of individual player cards while users also compete for weekly prizes.
With recognizable players to collect such as Ronaldo and Joao Felix and teams such as Juventus, West Ham United, Roma, and Athletico Madrid already signed up – This fantasy football game appears to be making an impact.
Furthermore, blockchain software company ConsenSys has invested in Sorare and French video game publisher Ubisoft has also accepted Sorare into its Entrepreneurs Lab’s program.
Top 5 potential
Launched in March 2019 on the Loom blockchain Sorare has been steadily gathering users ever since. At the time of writing it has 179 active users and a volume of $14.4K.
One observation to make is that if Sorare launched today on Ethereum, and brought all their current active users across. Potentially they would slide straight into the fourth position in the Ethereum dapp games category ranked by users.
Giving them higher visibility on DappRadar and debuting ahead of established dapp games such as Axie Infinity and CryptoDozer.
