Discover and market decentralized applications and DeFi protocols
DappRadar is happy to announce the integration of Core, a Bitcoin-powered Layer-1 chain bringing Bitcoin miner security to EVM smart contracts. As interest in developing on Bitcoin increases, the community can now discover dapps through valuable data and insights on the DappRadar platform for the most bitcoin aligned blockchain.
Even though Core leverages Bitcoin’s decentralization and security through mining pools, it’s also EVM-compatible. This means that dapp developers can easily migrate their dapps from Ethereum to Core, with minimal development effort.
This also means that Web3 users can tap into the security of Bitcoin, while still using the wallets they’ve been using on BNB Chain, Polygon and Ethereum itself. This composability makes Core an interesting ecosystem for any Web3 enthusiast to explore.
DappRadar now adds Core dapps to its Rankings, while they can also find metrics such as TVL in the DeFi Rankings. This allows the Core community to discover a wide variety of dapps, with even deeper data for DeFi enthusiasts.
What is Core?
Core is a Bitcoin-powered layer one chain bringing Bitcoin miner security to EVM smart contracts. To do so, it utilizes its own novel Satoshi Plus consensus mechanism. This means that decentralization and security are ensured through Delegated Proof-of-Work (DPoW) from Bitcoin mining pools, while scalability and composability are achieved through Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) from CORE token holders.
The network utilizes validators to keep the network running. Currently there’s a maximum of 21 validators live at any given time, selected based on their hybrid scores based on their allocation of PoW and PoS. Core is an open ecosystem, and anybody can run a full node in validator mode and attempt to get elected.
In addition, any mining pool can delegate their Bitcoin hash power, and users can delegate their CORE tokens to the network in return for a reward in CORE. Core currently has over 44% of Bitcoin’s hash rate already being delegated to its network via large mining pools.
