The blockchain supported by leading exchange Crypto.com
DappRadar now offers users access to dapps on the Cronos blockchain, the EVM compatible network backed by the hugely popular Crypto.com exchange. Users can now analyze which dapps attract the most volume, unique user wallets, or process the most transactions through the Cronos rankings, gaining insight into which dapps and tokens build solid communities and value.
Cronos is an EVM-compatible chain built on the Cosmos SDK. It interoperates with both Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems, supporting Decentralized Finance, NFT, and Metaverse applications. This newly launched blockchain aims to massively scale the Web3 ecosystem by providing developers the ability to rapidly port dapps from Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains. The value proposition of Cronos also includes low transaction fees, fast finality, and a small environmental footprint.
Cronos has strong foundations with support and funding from Particle B’s $100m EVM fund. In addition, it has access to a user base of more than ten million users from the Crypto.com and Crypto.org ecosystems.
Cronos has been one of the fastest-growing Layer 1 ecosystems in recent months. Since the Cronos Mainnet Beta launch in November 2021, the ecosystem has generated increased builder and user demand, and after one month of launch, it was already one of the top 10 public blockchains by total value locked (TVL). Currently, over 100 dapps are deployed and live on the Cronos mainnet beta, with over $2 billion TVL.
Cronos Dapps
Initially, DappRadar will track the activity of 40 dapps on Cronos. With more to follow in the weeks and months to come. Developers can independently submit their dapps and gain visibility to thousands of engaged users through the Developer Dashboard. 37 of the 40 dapps sit in the DeFi and Exchange category, showing further Cronos’ capabilities, while there are also three NFT marketplaces to check out.
Dapp Developers
Dapp builders can look to Cronos to offer a fast, low cost, scalable, and easy to deploy Layer 1 blockchain to build Web3 applications. Alongside the Ecosystem Grants Program that aims to provide technical, monetary, marketing, and partnership support to builders in the ecosystem.
EVM support allows for standard solidity smart contracts and Web3 tooling, enabling simple porting of dapps from other chains. Cronos is interoperable with popular Cosmos chains such as Cosmos Hub and Terra via Inter Blockchain Communication protocol (IBC) in a seamless and trustless way.
