A mobile-first blockchain that supports DeFi tools
DappRadar is happy to announce the integration of Celo blockchain dapps to the rankings. DappRadar’s 1 million monthly site visitors can now analyze which dapps attract the most trading volume, unique user wallets, or process the most transactions through the Celo blockchain dapp rankings. This way, everybody can understand which dapps and tokens build solid communities and value on Celo.
Celo is a mobile-first blockchain focussed on building tools to make DeFi accessible to anyone with a mobile phone. To date, the total value locked across all farms and pools on the protocol is more than $418 million. Celo takes a mobile-first approach to support a global financial ecosystem where an end-user can be onboarded with just a mobile phone number.
Celo uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm. Compared to Proof-of-Work (PoW) systems like Bitcoin and Ethereum, Celo’s design eliminates the negative environmental impact and means that users can make cheaper, faster transactions.
Importantly, Celo includes a programmable smart contract platform compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which is already widely adopted, familiar to developers, and has strong tool support. This compatibility enables dapp builders to quickly port existing Ethereum dapps to Celo and deliver rich user features with backing from a broad ecosystem of third-party applications and extensions.

At launch, DappRadar will track 19 dapps on the Celo blockchain. Twelve sit in the DeFi and Exchange categories which clearly outlines Celo’s focus on finance applications at this stage.
Ubeswap is the leading token swapping dapp on Celo right now and is the blockchains equivalent to Uniswap, except with a mobile user focus. Cyberbox is Celo’s leading NFT marketplace, and the network even has its own CryptoPunk NFT copies – CeloPunks.
