Everything you need to know about Blankos’ Mythical Chain and transferring NFTs to Ethereum
Blankos Block Party is one of the first blockchain-based games to gain prominence outside our Web3 bubble. Created by Mythical Games, the platform allows players to explore the Blankos world, compete in various challenges and collect valuable NFT skins. The game operates on the custom Mythical Chain. However, the team has now announced its first-ever OpenSea exclusive NFT drop on the Ethereum mainnet.
Summary:
- Blankos NFTs exist on the Mythical Chain to be used in-game
- The Mythical Chain to Ethereum bridge allows players to bridge their NFTs and sell them on marketplaces like OpenSea
- The ILYYWNFT drop will be the first Blankos NFT collection to launch on OpenSea
Blankos Block Party and Mythical Games
Blankos Block Party is a something for everyone gaming experience hosted on the Mythical Games private Mythical chain. Players get to participate in solo adventures exploring the game’s world or organize epic block parties and compete with other gamers.
NFTs play a central role in the Blankos experience. Each character you play can be customized through exclusive NFT wearables. These wearables also bring in ability benefits to your in-game character. One of the more prominent NFT collections Blankos released was in partnership with fashion giant Burberry. Importantly, each character is an NFT as well, meaning players can trade their playable characters and build a substantial collection.
Until recently, all Blankos NFTs were only available on the in-game marketplace hosted on the Mythical Chain. However, to open up the game’s ecosystem, the team released the Mythical Chain to Ethereum Bridge.
Mythical Chain x Ethereum
The Mythical Games Platform is built on a permissioned chain using a Proof-of-Authority consensus model. It is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Minting NFTs and integrating the Marketplace via the platform does not require mining. However, as Mythical Chain is a private chain, trading assets can only happen in the closed Mythical Games ecosystem.
To bring in more trading opportunities to players, Mythical Games created a bridge to the Ethereum mainnet. This bridge allows players to transfer their NFTs to Ethereum and trade them on popular secondary marketplaces like OpenSea. Vice versa, players can now purchase NFTs on Ethereum and bridge them back to the Mythical Chain.
It is important to note that once an NFT is bridged to Ethereum, players can no longer use it in game as their Blankos character. Of course, any interaction with the Ethereum blockchain in terms of transactions requires gas fees, so players also need to keep that in mind.
Blankos x ILYYWNFT NFTs to drop on OpenSea
The Mythical Chain to Ethereum bridge has been operational for a couple of months now, allowing players to transfer NFTs between the two blockchains. This flexibility has also allowed the Blankos team to partner with “I Like You, You’re Weird” to create the first Ethereum-based Blankos NFT collection.
Details regarding the upcoming drop are still scarce. However, one thing is clear – the NFTs will launch only on OpenSea. According to the official announcement, Blankos will release more information about the drop in the days to come.
This will be the first Blankos NFT collection to launch exclusively on OpenSea. Of course, players will still be able to bridge their new NFTs to the Mythical Chain and use them in-game or trade them on the Mythical marketplace.
An important note here is that Ethereum has the largest NFT audience across all blockchains in the space right now. This potentially allows Blankos to reach a much wider audience and attract big-time collectors who might not have been part of the ecosystem before.
