A deep dive into one year of organic traffic on the World’s Dapp Store
There are many ways to look at success in Web3, and here at DappRadar we value onchain metrics such as Unique Active Wallets (UAW), or Total Value Locked (TVL). However, we can also look at internet traffic on our website to identify what’s been hot in the Web3 community. Therefore, we look at the most popular projects, determined by the traffic generated on DappRadar.
Traffic has been going up on DappRadar in 2024. Thanks to the bull market, but also thanks to the launch of new exciting features. This year we launched various new services, such as the Airdrops Explorer or the ability to find newly launched smart contracts with Hot Contracts. DappLaunch was also a major milestone, and it’s just getting started with the first 4 projects just approved. Throughout the year we improved and expanded our Quests as well. However, arguably the biggest impact on DappRadar and RADAR has been the launch of Boosting and the introduction of Boosting Power as a soft currency.
Our community loves interacting with these new products, but DappRadar is also a popular resource for those who are dipping their toes into Web3. Organic traffic is one of the biggest traffic drivers on DappRadar, as many users dive into the World’s Dapp Store to find insights. By visiting project pages of decentralized applications or blockchain ecosystems, users can find the tools or services they are looking for. That way, DappRadar helped over 6 million unique users to explore Web3, discover dapps, and find exciting opportunities.
Below we highlight the top project pages, as determined by the unique number of active users in 2024. But let’s first look at the categories of the project pages that generated the most traffic through the year. Here we will differentiate between DeFi, Games, Social, Marketplaces and Gambling.
Games and DeFi attract the most traffic. Not only do most dapps on DappRadar fit one of these two categories, but these projects generally also offer the biggest earning opportunities to their users. However, the impact of the Social category should not be underestimated, because that’s a market segment that performed very well this year. We will share more about this in the Dapp Industry Report for the whole 2024, which we will publish early January.

Most popular DeFi projects of 2024
In DeFi, the most visited projects pages on DappRadar aren’t determined by total value locked or trading volumes. Moreover, we see projects high in the charts that are native to a young and heavily growing ecosystem. Visitors to DappRadar are clearly looking for staking and liquidity opportunities. You can discover the most used DeFi projects on DappRadar.
Most popular Social projects of 2024
Arguably, social projects really had their breakthrough this year. However, a social dapp doesn’t equal social media activity. It’s also about engagement and reward platforms where users built a reputation. Themes like digital identities, verification, and reward programs are all part of this category.
