What is 10KTF and who is Wagami-san?
The 10KTF project dates back to September 2021, when it first started to reveal information on Twitter. It is a digital shop in a fictional city called New Tokyo. The shop owner is an old gentleman named Wagmi who creates artisan accessories for renowned NFT projects, such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cool Cats, 0N1 Force, etc. The earliest collection currently trades at a starting price of 1.45 ETH. At the same time 24-hour trading volume reached $2.58 million, while the project has seen an all-time trading volume of 5,886 ETH ($17 million).
The protagonist of 10KTF is named after the crypto acronym Wagmi, which stands for “We are gonna make it”. The crypto community widely uses the acronym for building confidence and staying hopeful. In Japanese, san is an honorific title for someone. Therefore, resulting in the made-up name Wagmi-san.
The world of New Tokyo, shown on 10KTF’s official website, depicts a world very much like the one in Studio Ghibli’s movie Spirited Away. Living in this city, Wagmi-san is a respected world-famous craftsman who creates exclusive peripheral NFTs for selected collections.
10KTF’s storyline unfolds over time
Wagmi-san’s first collection was only available for owners of Cool Cats, Pudgy Penguins, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club (1-10K only), World of Women, Bored Ape Kennel Club, and 0n1 Force. They consist of the Genesis version of Wagmi-san digital artisan craftworks.
Later on, 10KTF owners received an airdrop from Wagmi-san. These airdrops contain Materials and Tools, which are required for minting, or crafting, a unique series of NFT apparel, the Blanks.
In late March 2022, fashion house Gucci joined Wagmi-san for collaboration in New Tokyo city. Collectors can now dress up their picture-for-proof NFTs (PFP NFTs) with Gucci logoed fashion couture. Currently, the 10KTF Gucci Grail collection has a floor price of 1.34 ETH and an accumulated trading volume of 2,600 ETH.
Upcoming drops fueled 10KTF’s popularity
Gucci might add to the recent traction of 10KTF. But, perhaps the real drivers of the project’s whopping growth are the upcoming drops. According to the project’s timeline, physical items will be dropped for 10KTF owners. Will it include Gucci fashion items? We don’t know yet, but it’s definitely worth the hope.
In addition, apparel and accessories for Boss_Taoz are underway, and Wagmi-san also has extended an invitation for the new darling of the NFT world, Moonbirds. Undoubtedly, Wagmi-san’s indie fashion shop is expanding faster than ever, and it aims to become the Supreme of the metaverse through its crossover strategy.
