Alexis Ohanian is back in the top 3, DJ Marshmello drops 4 places
The time has come for the monthly DappRadar Celebrity NFT Rich list review. As 2022 is progressing, celebrities are picking up more NFTs and building up their collections. This month’s list does not include any new names, however, we can see some interesting shifts in positions.
Gary Vee and Snoop Dogg continue their domination, holding the top two spots with millions worth of NFTs in each of their portfolios. Impressively, Alexis Ohanian now ranks third, boosting his portfolio value by more than $1.2 million over the past month. With 118 new NFTs in his wallet, the entrepreneur has climbed two spots compared to January 2022.
Another interesting trend we see this month is that despite the shaky performance of ETH, the value held in celebrity portfolios is rising. While last month the last in the ranking LaMelo Ball made it to the list with $626,000 worth of NFTs, in February the figures are very different.
DJ Marshmello ranks tenth this month, dropping four positions compared to January. However, his NFT portfolio is still worth about $200,000 more than LaMelo Ball’s collection. In this sense, the overall value of the celebrity NFT rich list continues to rise, showing that VIPs are increasingly more active in the NFT space.
An important note here is that celebrities attract a lot of attention to their wallets and receive thousands of NFTs as gifts. We have manually sifted through all of these celebrity wallets to bring readers a more filtered view. For that to happen, we’ve excluded NFTs that are gifted to these wallets. Consider this if you see discrepancies between this list and the values displayed on the DappRadar Portfolio Tracker.
10 Most Valuable Celebrity NFT Portfolios in February
NFT portfolios gain value
The crypto space has had a rocky start to 2022, but this does not seem to faze celebrity NFT collectors. Despite the rather shaky valuation of ETH and other major crypto tokens, the NFT hype continues to grow.
Gary Vee boosted his collection with NFTs worth over $3 million, while Snoop Dogg tacked on more than $1.3 million to his NFT portfolio value. Alexis Ohanian also went on a shopping spree in February, boosting his portfolio value by over $1.2 million.
Overall, eight out of the ten celebrity portfolios on the list in February saw an increase in valuation. Some like Gary Vee with impressive six-figure jumps, while others with as little as $10,000. Still, the trend is clear, celebrities are betting even harder on NFTs.
DappRadar will continue monitoring the celebrity NFT space, as more VIPs join the hype. To check out more celebrity NFT wallets, visit the official DappRadar list. Additionally, you can follow DappRadar on Twitter to learn the latest celebrity NFT news first.
