Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs saw a wave of activity with the release of the new BAYC roadmap, increasing trading volume 222%
Mutant Ape Yacht Club, the follow-up NFT collection for Bored Apes Yacht Club, has seen a spike in activity in the past 24 hours following the reveal of the Bored Apes roadmap 2.0. With a 222% boost in trading volume and 210% more sales, the collection now ranks fourth in the DappRadar Top Collections chart.
With the release of the second version of the Bored Apes Yacht Club roadmap, Mutant Ape Yacht Club now has increased utility for holders. This increase of utility gives traders confidence to pick up Mutant Apes that are currently available on the NFT marketplace.
Previously, roadmap updates were announced via Discord messages. However, there is now an official version of the revamped plan for the BAYC community. Most updates up until now focused on the original collection of Apes. Still, it turns out that Yuga Labs are keeping up with their goal to create a tight-knit community for all holders, regardless of whether their Ape is Bored or a Mutant.
Mutant Apes were the subsequent collection. This traditionally means it doesn’t get all the initial hype or all of the exclusive utility. Collectors had the chance to directly mint one of 10,000 Mutant Apes or purchase a serum that transformed their Bored Apes NFTs into Mutant ones. There are a total of 20,000 Mutant Apes out there.
So what can Mutant Ape holders expect?
According to the new roadmap, Mutant Apes will become an integral part of the future utility for the whole Bored Apes ecosystem. Probably the most interesting milestone on the roadmap is an upcoming Bored Apes versus Mutant Apes mobile competition.
By the looks of it, Mutant Ape holders will also be able to benefit from 3D renditions of their avatars. While there are no dates specified for this release, 3D Apes are among the most anticipated future developments for the collections. Having a 3D Mutant Ape will allow holders to enter virtual applications using their Ape character. Think about VR Chat, Somnium Space, and other virtual worlds supporting VRM compatible avatars.
Aside from events focusing on MAYC, the devs team is holding steady on its promise for exclusive benefits for original Bored Ape owners. The Trezor Hunt is among the most exciting BAYC exclusive milestones. Another interesting new feature announced in the roadmap is The Trial of Jimmy the Monkey. Jimmy was the central figure in the most recent treasure hunt, which concluded on September 14th. Judging by the roadmap, Jimmy will continue being a big part of the BAYC narrative. There are several events focused on him in the months to come.
Additionally, Yuga Labs has plans for an Ape Festival. It will run from October 31st through November 6th in New York City. It is also rather noticeable that the Yuga Labs team has redacted a part of the roadmap. This part features information about an upcoming top-secret BAYC blockchain-based game. However, we are yet to see more details about that.
Bored Apes on DappRadar
Bored Apes Yacht Club is among the best developed NFT collections out there. According to a recent DappRadar Whale Analysis report, BAYC has one of the highest whale distribution ratios. This means that there is a large community of collectors supporting the project. Consequently, Yuga Labs is responsible for keeping up with promises and delivering utility to the community. Roadmap 2.0 looks pretty promising in this regard.
