In this February 2022 edition of the New Dapps Report by DappRadar, we look at three popular NFT anime-inspired collections: Zipcy’s SuperNormal, Lives of Asuna and Killer GF. The New Dapps Report serves as an executive overview and analysis of financial metrics for NFT collections.

This February is the month of anime. It seems the apparent success of Azuki which we covered last month has inspired many analogous collections. In this New Dapps Report, we chose three anime-inspired NFT projects that gained prominence in early February. Each has shown potential based on the factors that we consider in our analysis.
First, we look at Zipcy’s SuperNormal collection of original hand-painted characters made by Zipcy, a Korean artist, professional illustrator who worked for Netflix. Assisted by former Microsoft tech lead and an experienced //pr0xy team of devs.
We will then look at the Lives of Asuna collection that focuses on music and avatar customisation. The team seeks to create lots of customization items for the avatars and accompany them with an exclusive soundtrack.
Finally, we look at Killer GF, a collection made by the former League of Legends concept artist Zerosis. It has a lot of planned utility features and is developed by a team of experienced devs who launched uwucrew.

The roadmap details a lot of strong features to be released in this collection in the near future.
The most notable of which are: private estate in Decentraland, season 2 of SuperNormals which will be available for all season 1 holders, a fashion game which gives holders the ability to upgrade Season 1 Supernormals exclusive items, IRL and digital exclusive merchandise for holders and charity collaborations with many female NFT artists.
Season 2 Supernormals will be an NFT drop for all current holders and the game will let holders customize their Season 1 Supernormals with extra accouterments making them more unique.
Social Awareness and Engagement
Although the Twitter account was created more than 3 months ago in October of 2021, the majority of the growth happened in the last 30 days where the account gained over 50,000 new followers with an average of 1,682 new followers per day. Which is a strong growth indicator for the account.
Discord server has 91,168 members. New users have to register their phone to enter and it is actively moderated by a dedicated team to ensure the presence of bots, spam and bad actors is minimal. The discord is well populated, with an active community.
Instagram has 7,862 followers and iis used to share promotional art for the collection.
Team Overview
The core of the team has made themselves public which lends a lot of credibility to the project.
Team //pr0xy are well known in the space and have worked on many previous NFT collection launches. The team is made of experienced professionals who previously worked for NASDAQ listed companies and have spotless reputation as well as a proven track record for working in crypto-space.
Zipcy is an accomplished artist, commercial illustrator and teacher. She made promotional art for many Netflix shows in Korea.

There are no significant concerns from a technical standpoint. Like most NFT projects, Zipcy’s metadata is stored using IPFS rather than fully on-chain. Not ideal as the smart contracts and the metadata are separate, but IPFS is working correctly. A common challenge in visually rich metadata projects.

Zipcy’s is a moderately distributed collection. The Unique Holders Ratio is 55%. The higher the ratio, the less susceptible a collection is to price manipulation or sudden price movements. The top five whales control only 4.07% of the total collection, which is a good indicator that affluent users will not be prone to price manipulation.
However, many famous NFT traders are represented in the top 5 owners of the collection, such as Pranksy. The presence of high-profile traders lends credence that the collection could be a highly successful endeavor and usually precipitates increased trading interest. Users must also be wary of following high-profile traders as their collection exit often precedes a sell-off.

There is an active moderation team that reduces the presence of bad actors to a minimum. The community is very active on all channels, with conversations going throughout the day.
Their Twitter was established in November 2021 however the account experienced significant growth in the last 30 days gaining over 128,000 new followers. On average the account has been gaining nearly 5,000 new followers every day.

Oksami – Developer and sound producer – Prolific developer who is also involved with successful collections such as Capsule House.
The team has not made themselves public; however, this is no cause for concern as all members are active online and have a clean, established reputation. Zumi is a successful artist on Patreon with a significant following while Oksami is very active on Twitch and Youtube.

The team is made of industry professionals who have successfully launched other collections in the past. Not all members of the team have made themselves public however the majority of them have which lends a lot of credibility to the project. The team also has a spotless reputation and plenty of relevant experience in their respective fields.

The utility features such as Season 2 drops of SuperNormals are universally appealing however the collection is strongly aimed towards female representation and empowerment.
Lives of Asuna built its appeal through hand-drawn art and having a unique utility offering of a soundtrack of the collection to all holders. The collection has a very favorable trading performance. It is the 14th most traded collection in the last 30 days with a total volume of $41,241,745 with over 11,000 unique traders and continues to grow steadily. It had a meteoric growth on social media gaining over 130,000 users on Twitter in a span of 30 days.
Killer GF’s success is directly linked to the popularity of lead artist Zeronis, who previously worked on League of Legends for ten years. The collection has a very high unique trader count of 14,608 which indicates a growing demand for the collection. Many of them are famous flippers like Pranky. In fact, six of the top ten holders of this collection are prominent flippers which explains the higher than average whale concentration of 6.31%. The collection rewards long-term holders with rare and unique pieces of art by Zeronis, which could fetch a high price among dedicated fans.
