Once again, Moonpay helped a celebrity enter the NFT space

Hollywood actor and comedian Kevin Hart is the latest celebrity member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club family. The actor subtly showed off his new Bored Ape #9258 by retweeting a Watcher.Guru post noting the sale. While many of his celebrity friends have decided to change their profile pictures on social media platforms to their BAYC NFTs, Hart chose to approach his purchase more subtly.

Interestingly, he is among the growing list of celebrities who decided to make their first NFT purchases with the help of Moonpay. The crypto firm paid 79.5 ETH or about $200.000 for the NFT and then transferred it to Hart’s wallet

Impressively, despite the fact that BAYC #9258 has several of the rarest properties, Moonpay snagged the NFT below the floor price. Of course, considering the integrity of the crypto firm and the intended final owner, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Kevin Hart joins a growing trend of celebrity involvement

NFT collectibles, especially Bored Apes, are steadily catching the attention of celebrities from all walks of life. Kevin Hart is the latest one to join the celebrity NFT club. The DappRadar Celebrity Wallets page constantly evolves, and new members join in.

Recently, rapper Eminem also joined the BAYC family by purchasing his ape doppelganger. Additionally, sports stars like Serena Williams, Shaquille O’Neal, and LaMello Ball are joining in the NFT hype as well.

Many of these celebs opted to use the services of crypto firms like Moonpay to purchase NFTs. While this might mean they don’t have the desire to get deep into the space and understand the inner workings of the blockchain, these purchases do instill confidence among NFT enthusiasts and the mainstream audience alike.

Celebrity endorsements are important for any successful business, and BAYC seems to have mastered this art. Statistically, the Apes are usually the first NFT collection celebs turn to as a starting point for their portfolio. Whether through the help of a service like Moonpay, or through direct purchases BAYC NFTs are trending among celebs.

DappRadar will continue monitoring the NFT space as more celebrities decide to make the jump. To find out the latest NFT news and sales data, consider becoming a member of DappRadar PRO.
