How Alien Worlds Became Most Popular Blockchain Game

8.500 users doing 2.5 million transactions per day!

With more than 8.500 active wallets per day, Alien Worlds has become the most popular blockchain game on the market. How did this happen?

Launched in December 2020, it hasn’t taken Alien Worlds long to become the most popular blockchain game in terms of daily active unique wallets. Boosted by an initial airdrop to 6.000 wallets that had previously played games like Axie Infinity, The Sandbox, and Gods Unchained (check your eligibility here), its rise to attract over 8.500 wallets a day is a byproduct of some key features.

Running on the WAX blockchain makes it highly accessible as anyone can easily play by creating a WAX Cloud Wallet using social media logins such as Facebook, Google, or Steam.

The game is also free-to-play, with every player receiving an avatar and a shovel so they can start mining the TLM token, which the idle gameplay is built around. Interestingly, TLM is a cross-blockchain token, existing both on the Ethereum and WAX blockchains.

Players choose a planet on which to start mining. It takes time to mine and collect TLM – the idle part of the gameplay – which can then be staked into a planet in order to enable the player to become part of that planet’s governance body. Alien Worlds records more than 2.5 million transactions per day, according to data from DappRadar.

Although Alien Worlds is free-to-play, players can also buy better equipment on third-party marketplaces such as Atomic Hub.

Incidentally, if you’re lucky, as well as mining TLM you can also discover NFTs such as new equipment, weapons, avatars, and minions. You can either equip these or combine them to level up your existing NFTs and improve your mining efficiency or try to sell them on the marketplace. Unlike the TLM tokens, the NFTs only run on the WAX blockchain so must be traded on WAX marketplaces.

More advanced players can also invest and own land parcels on the planets, gaining a daily allocation of the TLM tokens generated by the planet and a commission from all the TLM players mine from their land.

Of course, just having launched, many more features are planned for Alien Worlds. For example, with the opening of the Thunderdome, where players can battle with each other, is highly anticipated. You can read about the future roadmap here.
