Proceeds from the auction sale went to the RCC charity fund
Invisible Friends is one of the hottest NFT collections this week, topping the daily NFT trading charts on DappRadar. In the past 24 hours, the collection registered the top-grossing on-chain sale of the Golden Friend NFT, which sold for $1.3 million during a charity auction.
The Golden Friend was the centerpiece of the auction, proceeds from which went to the RandomCharacterCollective charity fund. Alongside this NFT, the new owner of the Golden Friend received five more Invisible Friends NFTs, which have not been revealed yet.
The Invisible Friends collection introduced a whitelist only mint which opened on February 23rd. Since the mint, the collection has generated more than $22 million in NFT trading volume. More than 1,414 traders have interacted with the collection in the past 24 hours, making it the top traded project for the period.
What else is there in the Golden Friend NFT’s new home address?
The new owner of the Golden Friend NFT has quite the NFT portfolio. According to the DappRadar Portfolio Tracker, this collector has 271 NFTs. Interestingly, the portfolio does not feature any blue chip projects like Bored Apes or CryptoPunks. Judging by the transaction activity of the wallet, most of the 271 NFTs, aside from Golden Friend, are gifts. For example, these two MetaHouse NFTs.
Additionally, the new owner of the Golden Friend NFT has McDonald’s Job Application NFT which was transferred to them without a sales transaction happening. Of course, this is probably intended as a nod to the popular running joke in the crypto space, that NFT collectors who spent a lot of money on collectibles might end up working in McDonald’s when their funds run out.
Aside from NFTs, this collector has a hefty stake in cryptocurrency tokens as well. The wallet holds close to $1 million in USDT, and close to half a million dollars in WETH. This brings the total value stored in the wallet to $2.62 million.
