GALA price pumps while VOX NFTs attract attention
Gala Games has officially announced it will launch a dedicated node network for one of its games, the farming game Town Star. While there isn’t an official date yet, Gala Games has released a detailed FAQ document regarding the new Town Star node network.
Town Star is the most popular game in the Gala Games network. Because the team wants to decentralize its services as much as possible, they will launch a player-owned node network for the game. At the moment, players have the opportunity to operate Gala Founders Nodes which support the whole Gala Games’ ecosystem.
However, with the introduction of Town Star Nodes, Gala Games aims to revolutionize the blockchain gaming space and completely decentralize the Town Star game from the core. As this will be a game-specific node network, node operators will receive rewards in Town Star’s native token TOWN.
How will the Town Star node network work?
According to the official announcement, the new Town Star node network will operate very similarly to the Gala Founders node network. Of course, the main difference is that Town Star node operators will offer processing power to the Town Star game and receive rewards in the game’s native token, TOWN.
Gala Games plans to roll out the node network in two separate stages, with subsequent node sales whenever the opportunity arises. The number of nodes that are available will depend on the daily active users at any given time. There is a cap to the number of nodes to ensure that there are never more Town Star Node licenses than needed to support the game. The cap is set at 10% of the daily active users of Town Star.
Rewards for node operators will be calculated based on two factors. Firstly, the number of daily active users for the prior day in Town Star. Secondly, there will be a sliding scale equal to 0.25x – 1.00x of the TOWN allocation for Gala Founders nodes. Combined, these two metrics will determine node rewards. As with Gala Founders nodes, rewards are paid out every six hours.
According to preliminary estimates released by Gala Games, the cost for a Version 1 Town Star node license will be between $7500 and $12.500. Additionally, node operators will have to ensure their computer meets the following criteria to run the node successfully:
- 4 GB RAM
- 2 CPU Cores
- 60 GB disk space
- constant 10 MBit up/down Internet connection
Gala Games is on a streak
The recent announcement that Gala Games is launching game-specific Town Star nodes is just one in a series of positive events for the platform. On November 16th, Gala Games saw its native token GALA land on Coinbase Pro. This effectively pumped the token’s price. At the time of writing, one GALA token is worth $0.26, a steep increase from the $0.09 price tag on November 15th.
Aside from the hefty spike in valuation for GALA, the platform has also seen increased interest in Vox Collectibles NFTs. In the past 24 hours alone, Vox Collectibles have attracted 64% more traders, generating a trading volume of $1.68 million. The current Vox Collectibles have a Town Star theme, and next month they will sell ones themed after the upcoming online RPG Mirandus.
Coupled with the new Town Star node network, these are several significant achievements for Gala Games in the span of just a couple of days. DappRadar will continue monitoring Gala Games as the platform pushes forward to revolutionize the blockchain gaming space.
