The pop star teamed up with Beeple for an exclusive NFT project currently auctioning on SuperRare

Madonna, one of the biggest names in pop music, and Beeple, one of the biggest names in the digital art space, have teamed up for a majestic NFT project. The collection of three NFT’s called Mother of Creation is currently live on SuperRare, and bids are starting to fly in.

Summary:

  • Madonna and Beeple have been working on the project for over a year, and the official auction is now live on the SuperRare platform
  • The three works focus on different interpretations of motherhood and the modern age, and you can still place bids in the live auctions for each of them
  • Madonna and Beeple are both NFT collectors aside from passionate creators. You can browse through their portfolios below

Madonna brings vision and Beeple brings execution

While Madonna and Beeple might not be the most obvious collaboration duo for the NFT space, at first sight, it turns out they have been hard at work for over a year now. The Mother of Creation triptych became available to the public on March 11th, at 6 PM EST.  The collection launched through an auction hosted on SuperRare

Both Madonna and Beeple have shared the event on their social media profiles, attracting thousands of views and likes. It is not surprising considering the clout they have in their respective fields. You can see the official announcement below:

What is the Mother of Creation collection?

The Mother of Creation project consists of three NFTs, each representing a different idea regarding motherhood and childbirth. The images feature a digital stylization of Madonna’s body as a mother giving birth.

The first NFT in the collection is “Mother of Nature”. This is a one-minute video depicting Madonna in a futuristic lab, giving birth to a plant. The imagery is rather graphic, yet it conveys Madonna and Beeple’s focus on motherhood through different perspectives. At the time of writing, the highest bid for this piece is 15 ETH, or about $28,000. The auction ends in less than 48 hours. If you’re interested in purchasing this NFT, place your bid here

The second NFT in the series follows much the same artistic flow but offers a different perspective on motherhood. In “Mother of Evolution”, Madonna’s character gives birth to a swarm of butterflies in a post-apocalyptic setting.  Currently, the highest bid for “Mother of Evolution” is 5.5 ETH, or about $10,500. The auction ends in less than 48 hours. If you’re interested, you can place your bid here

Lastly, ‘Mother of Technology” presents the pop star’s digital version while giving birth to numerous mechanical centipedes. The scene surrounding Madonna offers a complete juxtaposition to the technological aspect of the delivery. At the time of writing, the highest bid for “Mother of Technology” is 5.5 ETH, or about $10,500. You can view the NFT and place a bid here

Each of the three videos presents Madonna’s unique perception of the world and Beeple’s unmistakable style. The creative duo has managed to align their artistic vision and offer a striking new look at childbirth and motherhood.

Importantly, proceeds from the primary sale will go to three charities. The three organizations are all focused on supporting women and children worldwide.

Madonna and Beeple as NFT collectors

Aside from being talented artists and visionaries, both Madonna and Beeple are NFT collectors. Beeple has one of the largest celebrity NFT collections, with more than 4,400 unique collectibles in his wallet

He’s part of the PROOF Collective, an exclusive membership club for collectors, artists, and web3 enthusiasts. Thanks to his membership, Beeple now owns 2 Moonbirds NFTs. Aside from popular collectibles from hot projects, Beeple also places a heavy bet on digital art. He holds numerous Rarible pieces and even a Hashmasks NFT.

Looking into Madonna’s NFT portfolio, we see a very different selection. The pop star only joined the NFT space earlier this year after purchasing Bored Ape #4988. Impressively, this NFT is no longer in the original wallet it was purchased with; however, there is no sale transaction, just a transfer. The new wallet contains only 5 NFTs, including the BAYC, and it’s very likely the remaining four were gifts from fans. In this sense, Madonna has not yet started building her NFT collection, or at least not publicly. Still, the pop star’s involvement with Bored Ape Yacht Club signals she is interested in the NFT space.

What’s more, Mother of Creation promises to be one of the hottest NFT drops this spring, and it will effectively put Madonna on the digital art scene as well. DappRadar will continue monitoring Madonna and Beeple’s joint and individual NFT journeys. To check out the official auction, visit the SuperRare website.
