NFT Sales Highlights: Several Axie land NFTs sold for over 130 ETH each
As Sky Mavis is actively working on implementing land gameplay into Axie Infinity, investors are eyeing land NFTs. This resulted in some remarkable NFT sales in the past 7 days, despite the current market downturn and turbulent events surrounding Axie, Sky Mavis, and the Ronin ecosystem.

NFT Sales Highlights – Week 22
Axie Infinity Builders Program and land gameplay
Axie Infinity has long been one of the top gaming projects in the blockchain space, and the upcoming land gameplay is definitely boosting activity. Unfortunately, as the bear market took hold of the space, and Ronin bridge suffered an attack, prices and interest in Axie land seemed to dwindle.
However, last week Axie land attracted some of the top-grossing sales. Land plot (-30, 16) sold for 160 WETH, or about $289,910, while land plot (-30, 15) switched owners for 136 WETH, or $270,390. The two spots are right next to each other, yet, the wallets that bought them are not the same.
The spike in activity for the Axie Infinity land collection observed last week could be the result of the overall hype Axie has attracted recently. The Sky Mavis team recently held AxieCon: Barcelona, one of the largest real-life events for the Axie community.
What’s more the team also announced the first grant winners for the Axie Builders Program. All of these in combination with recent land gameplay teasers have pushed activity for Axie NFTs. According to DappRadar data, in the past seven days, the Axie Marketplace processed 30% more volume, reaching a total of $1.9 million.
Bored Apes and Otherside still hold the throne
While Axie Infinity has had a great week in terms of both sales and activity, Bored Apes are the undeniable leaders. A large majority of the most expensive sales of the past seven days belong to the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. What’s more, the Bored Ape virtual world Otherside has also carved out a space for itself among the top-selling NFT collections.
What’s more, according to the DappRadar NFT Explorer tool, in the past 24 hours, BAYC NFTs have gained over 2.5 ETH in terms of floor price valuation and generated 92% more in NFT trading volume reaching $1.83 million.
You can browse around the NFT Explorer to see what BAYC traits have become more valuable, and which are the most affordable Bored Apes with any given set of traits. For example, Bored Ape Yacht Club #7725 which tops the NFT Sales Highlights chart this week falls in the midrange in terms of pricing for Bored Apes with a Red Hat trait. The most expensive Red Hat BAYC NFT is #197.
