Animoca Brands looks like the ideal partner for Binance to level up
Given it sold several million dollars’ worth of NFTs during 2020, Hong Kong game publisher Animoca Brands looks like the ideal partner to Binance to level up value on its Binance Smart Chain.
Launched in September 2020, Binance Smart Chain is currently dominated by DeFi dapps; hardly a great surprise gave the finance-focus of most Binance users and the growth of DeFi on Ethereum during 2020.
One of the key features of Binance Smart Chain is that it’s compatible with Ethereum, which means Ethereum dapps can be launched on it with minimum changes.
However, despite this, very few Ethereum dapps of any kind have yet gone live on Binance Smart Chain.
Binance’s partnership with Animoca Brands is a move to change this situation.
Animoca – King of NFTs?
As the publisher of high profile blockchain games such as The Sandbox and F1 Delta Time, Animoca has the ability to bootstrap activity on Binance Smart Chain.
In the first instance, it isn’t going to launch games, though, instead, it’s going to be testing the water by minting NFTs.
Given the value of the most expensive NFTs grew considerably during 2020 – the current record is $223,000 – they should provide an interesting option for Binance users looking to diversify their profits from the recent bull run in crypto prices.
